Arkham Origins Trailer Arrives With CGI Beatdown

A new trailer has popped up for Warner Bros’ in-development game Batman: Arkham Origins, which is destined for an October 25th release.

If you’re not a fan of CGI trailers for video games, then this might not be for you; but the fight between Batman and Deathstroke gives us an idea of where the story will be going.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Announced

Arc System Works has finally announced a new Guilty Gear game. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- looks to be quasi-3D, like Street Fighter 4, and has some of the best cel-shading I have seen in a game. Initially, I thought it was just HD 2D sprites as in their other series Blazblue, until the camera panned around the characters showing it was actually 3D. If the final product looks this nice, I will be impressed.

For those of you well aware of the recent and heavy lull in Ross Scott’s popular comedy series Freeman’s Mind, I am pleased to inform you that the popular Half Life series is back, with Ross planning to “never have something like that happen again” and stating that he’s hoping to go back into a regular posting pattern. The major eight month delay was due to the popular YouTube channel Machinima, and the contract between Machinima and Mr. Scott. Whereas Ross has not revealed any information regarding the contract and the pay he received from Machinima, he states that it was enough “to live off of”, and Machinima was attempting to change that.

The persistent desire to change Ross’ contract was based on the belief that his series was steadily becoming unpopular. Ross states that YouTube’s “algorithm ‘tweak’ in 2011 caused [him] to lose half [his] views. Not just in popular recent videos, in EVERYTHING from years back”, and that this isn’t the first he’s read about YouTubers losing up to 90% of their views. Ross has broken free of the shackles of YouTube and Machinima and has joined Doug Walker, the “The Nostalgia Critic”, in his site thatguywiththeglasses.com, and is putting his recent videos on both blip.tv and his personal YouTube channel.

Arkham Origins Teaser Trailer Released, Dates Revealed

Today a teaser trailer was released for Batman: Arkham Origins, the in-development prequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Two dates were shown in the trailer. Monday 20th May is when the full trailer will be released to the world, and the 25th October of this year will be when the game will be released worldwide.

Twitch App Goes Live On Xbox 360

Today the launch of a Xbox 360 app for live streaming site Twitch was revealed, with the app currently available only for USA Xbox Live Gold members.

The new Twitch app will let you go through and watch the top 300 streams that are currently live. Just like the main site you will be able to find streams that are playing a certain game. It also uses Kinect features, which lets you tell the Kinect what game or channel you want to watch without needing to use the controller.

The comments on Twitch’s blog suggest that some people aren’t happy with the limitations of the top 300 live streams, and that they can’t use your account to easily find the channels they follow.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 5 Coming to the West

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 5, the latest courtroom adventure in the Ace Attorney series, is finally making it’s way out of Japan and onto 3DS in Europe and North America this Fall. The game has been renamed to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, and will be the first game of the series to be in full 3D, among many new gameplay features. After an eight year absence, Wright will be back investigating all-new cases, pointing fingers, yelling and slamming desks all over again.

The game also looks to expand upon the gameplay of the previous games with the inclusion of fully-3D investigations and Wright’s new Associate Attorney Athena Cykes. Cykes will allow the player to perceive the emotional state of the witness using the “Mood Matrix” to find contradictions in their testimonies.

Currently, there is only word of the game being available through Digital Download through the 3DS; whether it will be available in retail remains to be seen.

XCOM Declassified Resurfaces with Gameplay

After a long silence, the XCOM shooter has resurfaced since it’s first appearance in 2010 and it is a totally different game now. The game is still a shooter, but it has transferred to a constant third person view and seems to carry a much more tactical style of gameplay.

The game will take place in the 1960s and details the origins of the XCOM Project. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, is scheduled for release August 20, 2013 for Windows PCs, Xbox 360 and the Playstaion 3.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Spies Vs Merc

Ubisoft is reviving the multiplayer game mode ‘Spies vs Mercs’ in the new Splinter Cell: Blacklist game. I know people loved the game mode in Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. This will be something the fans will either rejoice about, or tear to shreds.

I hope it is as fun as it was in prior games.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Live Action Teaser

The game will be revealed along with the new Microsoft console on May 21st, which leads us to believe it will be a next gen title.
