The Last Guardian, a PS3 Exclusive made by Team Ico that was supposed to be released in 2011, is still very much in production said Sony Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida. Eurogamer asked Shuhei Yoshida at Gamescom any info involving The Last Guardian which Shuhei Yoshida replied “There are certain technical issues they’ve been working on. That’s the period of time when the game, looking from the outside, doesn’t seem to be making much progress. But internally there is a lot of work going into creating the title.” “We had the game playable,” Yoshida explained. “At one point we felt that it would be produced for a certain time period. That was the time we prematurely talked about the launch window. But it turned out the technical issues are much harder to solve. So the engineering team had to go back and re-do some of the work they had done.”
The Last Guardian has failed to show up at Sony’s Gamescom press conference, along with this year’s E3 and last years Tokyo Game Show.
Some have said that the game has been dropped as a PlayStation 3 title and changed to a PlayStation 4 Title, but Yoshida insisted it is still a PS3 title.
