After the almost fall of OnLive and the buyout of Gaikai by Sony, Square Enix is bringing HD gaming straight to your browser thanks to Core Online. Core Online is a cloud gaming portal just through the browser like Gaikai, Like the other two Cloud gaming services you can buy the game but with Core Online you can watch ads to play levels of the game at no cost besides time. So far there are only three confirmed games on the site Hitman: Blood Money, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and Mini Ninjas. There are plans for Tomb Raider: Underworld and Gyromancer. The browser based streamer works with Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. No information about Safari.
“Square Enix is at the forefront of experimentation of new business and services models in the game industry,” stated Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada. “Through our Core Online technology service, users can access our content easily through the browser.”
