The long-awaited Need for Speed movie has just moved one step closer to reality, as DreamWorks Studios pick up the film rights to EA’s popular franchise.
Production is set to begin as early as the start of next year. Scott Waugh will be directing the movie, which will be written by sibling screenwriters George and John Gatins.
It appears that the film adaptation will be embodying everything we love about the Need for Speed franchise. This is what we can expect: “The film adaptation will be a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise. In Need for Speed, the cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story keeps players at the edge of their seat.”
