Treyarch has released their new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which reveals important details about the setting and gameplay options for the latest title in the blockbuster “Call of Duty” series.
The game will be set in 2025, as previously rumoured, and as shown in the trailer, it features a near-future scenario in which the U.S. military have developed technology that puts unmanned vehicles and robots on the front lines of battle.
The trailer is narrated by none other than Frank Woods, one of the valiant protagonists from the first Black Ops. This time around, however, players take the role of David Mason, son of the original title’s player character, and will have to make choices that affect the outcome of the game.
Black Ops 2 appears to show a mix of themes; gameplay in the video shows urban warfare through the streets of a combat-stricken Los Angeles, juxtaposed with… horseback chases through the desert.
From this trailer, you can see that a whole new tone has been applied to the Black Ops series, which is very different from your average Call of Duty game. Mark Lamia, Treyarch studio head, said his developers did a lot of research to set the game in the future. He said that the single-player campaign, will feature multiple plotlines and nonlinear gameplay in which a player’s actions affect how the story unfolds.
Not much has been revealed about the game’s multiplayer action, but expect many more details to be announced before it hits stores on November 18.

I really was wrong about what the campaign might be. I thought it would be about the Soviet-Afghan War along with what happened to Mason, Weaver, and Hudson.
