EA has announced that they are in fact working on the third installment of the Crysis series. The game will take place in New York, which has been completely transformed from the typical urban jungle, to a more literal one. Playing as Prophet, you’ll work your way around swamplands, rivers, and a dense, muggy overgrowth of trees and plant-life. All of this is caused by a Nanodome which is split into several different areas called the Seven Wonders. We’ll be able to see Prophet test out new alien and nanosuit tech against Cell Corporation.
Cevat Yerli of Crytek, the developers of the Crysis series, excitedly boasted, “Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love. Leveraging the latest CryENGINE technology, we’re able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded gameplay experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game”.
Those who pre-order the game will have there pick of three different bonuses, including the Stalker Pack (made for players who enjoy killing from the shadows, up close and personal using the Jackal shotgun), the Overkill Pack (for players who prefer to take on their foes head on using the Typhoon assault weapon), and the Predator Pack (which gives the Feline submachine gun, also deadly at close combat).
