Cryptic Studios, developers of the Star Trek Online MMORPG, have discovered a hack…that occurred back in 2010. The company believes that the hacker has gained access to encrypted passwords (which he or she might have been enable to crack a portion by now) and user account details. There is no actual proof if the hacker got their hands on sensitive data such as date of births, e-mail address, billing address, and credit card info. However, it’s always a possibility. Cryptic Studios sent out a warning to all those who might have been a victim to the hacks and have advised them to change their passwords and keep an eye on their bank accounts. Better to be on the side of caution and better to catch a hack later rather than never, though this delay has yet to be desired.
