The Evolution Fighting Game Tournament or Evo for short has the largest following ever seen in competitive gaming, players from as far as Japan come to the US to show their metal against the best the US has to offer. Last years showing on TwitchTV blowing Records for online viewership out of the water, this year is going to show that Evo is the king of competitive gaming once again.
Last year both Mortal kombat 9 and Marvel versus Capcom 3 made its Evo debut and both games made a huge stir last year, as well as the hugely unbalanced Super street fighter 4 Arcade edition also created some of the biggest hype of the tourney.
Here are the list of games coming to Evo this year on july 6-8th
- Street Fighter X Tekken ~ new
- Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Version 2012
- Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
- Soul Calibur 5- New
- King of Fighters 13 – New
- Mortal Kombat 9
Here is what Mr. Wizard had to say about the lineup
“This is maybe the most exciting roster we’ve ever had. It’s got tried and true tournament games with balance refreshes, two series reboots that both show great potential, and a great variety of play styles from old school 2D to the zaniness of Marvel to an updated take on classic 3D fighting. It’s amazing to see so many great games hit the market at one time and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top in each of these games.”
What does however have alot of the community in a fuss is that no one has had any real time with the game Street fighter X Tekken and don’t know fully how the Gem system works. As well as people are quite confused but have accepted now that Tekken 6 is not making another return to the tournament.
(As you can see there Are alot of new games but also fan favorites still there. The games I personally will be entering this year are Street fighter X Tekken, Soul Caliber 5, Street fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012, and Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3.)
